HOST FAMILIES PROGRAM
THINKING OF BECOMING A NEW HOST FAMILY?
Have you thought about earning money using your extra bedrooms? Hosting international students attending English courses in the UK is a great way. Most of our students hail from Europe and join our College to take part in our English language courses.
Students aged 15-21 from our institution seek to live with host families during their English course to enhance their domestic English proficiency. While their stays might range from as short as 1 week to as long as 8 weeks, most of our students typically don’t stay beyond 4 weeks.
We anticipate that you’ll offer full-board accommodation, comprising breakfast, a packed lunch, and dinner. In return, we will compensate you with £175 weekly, which equates to £25 daily.
We are consistently on the lookout for families, especially in the south and southwest of Birmingham, to accommodate our international students. While there’s a higher influx from March to October, we have students throughout the year, albeit in smaller numbers.
Our host profiles vary widely – from singles, couples, whether they’re married or cohabiting, to retirees, empty-nesters, and single-parent households. We encourage individuals from every background to apply, embracing the diverse culture that Birmingham offers.
From a taxation perspective, hosts have the opportunity to earn up to £7500 annually as additional income without incurring taxes.
HOST DOCUMENTS
The College aims to give students a welcoming and supportive homestay during their brief time in Birmingham. We also prioritize making sure our hosts know their importance and feel appreciated as crucial parts of our community.
We’ve curated resources to help you understand your responsibilities and expectations as a host, aiding in deciding whether hosting suits you.
If you have questions, doubts, or are curious about how we operate, please feel free to contact us. We’re always open for a conversation.
